Pothos’ Song

Her beautiful melody drips from the Zeppelin in the sky,

Crystalized notes of emerald and sapphire dance among the waves of the present moment.

Senses undivided; together as one.

Crystalline waters of aquamarine,

You dazzle and astonish to not just me but all that can hear, see, taste, touch and smell.

A sight beyond the eyes;

A song inaudible to so many.

Where have you been all along?

Here… could it be so?

I believe you are right.

We, generally, too daft to observe her.

Busying and bustling,

Missing the forest for the trees.

Incomprehensible magnitude of reality beyond this thin veil,

Always there awaiting us to peel back.

She glitters invitingly.

A place without time and tire.

Beyond the foliage, an existence without beginning or end.

A kaleidoscope of possibilities swirling at speeds wholly undefined.

More of a sense than a location in our perceived physical.

To know it’s available anytime we desire.

This is the hidden skeleton key in the forgotten attic of consciousness.

We press the door open just a hair; a new choice presented to walk through.

Filling these pages with my truth for what purpose but truth’s sake alone.

A thought of other’s eyes gazing upon these scribbled lines produces uncertainty and doubt.

So I push it aside,

Unhelpful looping biofeedback of generations engrained and trained to arise for what reason?

Predictability of systematic creation.

Consistency is the only real death.

All will change over and over and over again.

Give up the static noise of the known to find the pathway unmarked.

Walk through head on into the darkness and a gentle song will guide you.

The light of a thousand suns for all but truly for you, Bright One.

Individually important strokes,

Collectively significant movements.

The choice is your’s to take.

It will present each and every one of your days.

Choose anew or alike.

The hand is your’s to play.

A discovery has begun.

Roles embodied as the hidden and the seeker.

Peeling away your distractions, the path clears before you.

A dawn is arriving with your new found choice.

She scoops you up in her golden rays of embrace.

Welcoming you home again as if you had never left.

You experience this not for the first time but with eyes brand new.

Elated by your arrival,

Bewildered by your delay.

A train stuck at the station with a phantom vision of passing landscape gone by.

Feet firmly planted now,

The intended destination left unsought,

Succumbs to perfection’s deep seated flawed premises and holes.

A beautiful watercolor washing away in the afternoon rain.

To ramble and return,

Again this is home.

A familiarity lodged in this abode not forgotten.

The way once lost will not be unfurled again so easily.

A purposeful stumbling to here… to now.

In every embodiment a little more certain of the way.

These words, they can not be mine.

For I know not, what I do not know.

I read them for the first time just as you.

A spilling forth in fascination blended seamlessly with confusion, admittedly.

My humanity overtakes,

My pen slows in response.

I give eternal appreciation for this gift and succumb to my body once more.

Abid you adieu,

Au revoir.

Rock me to sleep with your brilliant hues and delicate hums of care.

Goodnight, dear Pothos’ Song.

This poem was inspired by a song played from a device called a PlantWave which detects slight electrical variations in a plant via two electrodes placed on the leaves of a plant.

Learn more about the incredible technology of PlantWave here. If you are interested in purchasing a PlantWave device to start recording your own plant generated music today, use this link to receive $15 off your purchase.

Below is a recording of the song of a Marble Queen Pothos plant using a Plantwave device.
